Born and raised on the east coast of scotland, rich hendry has been taking photographs since he got his first camera aged sixteen. he has since worked all over the world, been nominated for several international awards and has exhibited widely.
His photographs aren’t confined to a particular genre or subject matter, and he is equally at home shooting people or landscapes, either working in a studio or in a more guerrilla fashion. Technical experimentalism has always been an important starting point for Rich’s work, and this often leads to a stance that is contemplative rather than immediately emotional.
Amongst other things Rich is currently working on an ongoing portraiture project for a book featuring individuals from various subcultures and sports, and through this story hopes to highlight what is individual about each person, as well as the universal traits apparent in all of us that make us the same.
Based in London for the last seven years, rich has worked for clients as diverse as the bbc, sony, omega, temperley, udeshi, discovery channel, and HSBC to name a few. |
